Natural Mineral Makeup Review
Once you have read the following article about a new wave of make up products
that use natural minerals, please share your thoughts about natural mineral
makeup with a comment at the end.
Guidelines for Mineral Makeup
Mineral makeup from Naked
Minerals will provide a firmer, younger looking skin at any age. When the skin
is exposed to harmful chemical based cosmetics, the sun and the passage of time,
it can become dull and lifeless. Other factors in less than perfect skin include
a poor diet and lack of adequate water. These subtle skin abuses reveal
themselves on the surface of the skin.
Mineral make up is gaining more and
more popularity when men and women are finding out that this makeup that is made
up of all natural minerals finely grounded from the earth. It does not contain
preservatives, chemical dyes, perfumes, talc, alcohol and other not-so-good
stuff found in traditional make up.
Makeup sponge
The process is similar,
but you can vary the coverage by changing the way you apply it to your face.
Experiment with patting, rolling and stroking your foundation on. For a
different look, try applying your foundation with a damp sponge. You can also
use a clean-flocked sponge to smooth on that flawless look after applying powder
with a brush. Using downward strokes minimizes the look of pores and causes
those fine little facial hairs to lie down and disappear!
Foundations
The
best way to apply essential mineral foundation is with a kabuki brush, or you
can use a powder brush if the hairs are not to loosely apart. You can either tap
some mineral powder in your lid and swirl the brush in the powder or dip your
brush in the powder and then swirl it in the lid. Gently tap off excess powder
on the edge of your lid, with bristles pointed upward.
Brushes
There are a
variety of makeup brushes currently on
the market. Ebay is one of the best places to find a great makeup brush set, or
individual brush. I suggest investing in good makeup brushes. Good brushes last
many, many years and help you apply your makeup like a pro. My favorite brush
set is the Liana Beauty 7 piece Brush Set, this set comes with a combination of
synthetic and natural hairbrushes, they are extremely high quality and come with
a chic case, and my favorite Liana brush is their kabuki. If you don’t want to
purchase a full set of brushes yet, a kabuki brush is an extremely popular brush
for applying mineral makeup foundation.
The Motion
Due to the loose
powder texture of mineral make-up, it may be tempting to just dab it on like you
would with loose powder, but don’t! Mineral make-up is much less translucent
than loose powder and is meant to be worn as foundation, so you need to apply it
sparingly and build it in stages to achieve the ideal look.
Eyeliners and Eye
shadows
Though eye shadow applications may change with the seasons and the
current fashions, the best way to accentuate you eyes is to use 3 different
colors applied to your lid. What we suggest is to use 3 complimentary eye shadow
colors of the same basic color. Softly brush the lightest color over your entire
lid from your lashes up until you reach the brow bone. Then take the darker
color and line your eyes using a wet brush. You can take a soft dry eye shadow
brush and create a sideways “V” by gently brushing along the eyeliner from the
inner part of your eye to the outer, and turning and going back towards the
inner part of your eye except you follow the crease of your eye instead. This
not only smudges the harsh line of the eyeliner but also gives your eye some
depth. Then pick up your middle color and gently brush that over the lower lid
of your eye.
